My Online Garage Sale- New Blog of mine.

I have started yet another blog for items that I have for sale. This came about because I started a listing on Gumtree, a local classifieds site and I thought "oh there are so many items to list and pictures" so best way to showcase everything in one area ergo a new blog especially for that reason.

Craft Magazines that I had doubles of or no longer want, fabric and a few other items. I will also be selling Original Baby Quilts as I make them coming soon.
Here is the link .  http://craftyitemsforsale.blogspot.com/
Check it out and if interested please contact me.

How to Pinwheel Wallhanging.

I was having a very whimsical day when I thought of pinwheels and how they are made. So as you do you make a design to see how it looks.

It is a step by step wallhanging idea that I had. I suppose you could say its like a blue print of how to make a pinwheel design step by step straight up on the wall.

Here it is. I know its a bit weird but I sorta like the idea.

Hi

I have been away from this blog for a while but have made quite a large quilt for my son

He designed it in Electric Quilt. Photo's to come soon. It is soccer themed as he is mad keen.

I fixed a few of the design flaws up and added my own ideas but of course ran them by him first before applying them . Result was absolutely fantastic. Everyone wants one but I never make the same quilt twice.

I have to say that Electric Quilt Program really makes the job easy.

I have also made and design a baby's quilt for my neighbours 7th child who was born 8 weeks premmie. I was really happy with the bright colours I picked for this one.

Next project is a little girls baby quilt for my new great niece is who absolutely adorable and very very chubby.

I will post all photo's up soon of both quilts.

Japanese Inspired

This is one I designed in eq5 earlier on . It is a table runner or maybe a long wall hanging if you like.
I actually love the colour combination.
The Project file is available in both formats if you would like a copy emailed to you. Just click on "contact me" to the right of this page.

Playing with clamshells in EQ6

Broken Circles 44"x44" Quilt

I was wondering what would happen if I just used the one block to design the whole quilt
Using the clamshell block was exciting all of a sudden. I rotated every second block and found some sort of a flower design starting but in the back of my head the clamshells looked like ships floating on the ocean.
The ships just weren't doing it for me tonight , so flower petals started to take over my mind and then I saw the circles. The circles seemed to be broken at every intersection , hence the name.
I also decided that they would be exciting in the border, but I didn't want the square border , I wanted something fancier. I took the clamshell back into easy draw and turned it on point for the corner block , erased a couple of lines and bingo! It was exactly what I imagined.
The colour combination could be anything you like. I am not a fan of green at all, but it just wanted to be present in this quilt, so it got it's own way. Oh well.
This pj6 file is available to anyone that would like it so just email me .

Okay now I have a signature to pop onto the end of my posts.

Visions of the Orient

Visions of the Orient 1
I designed this quilt a year or so ago in hope of starting the project, but once
again I didn't. I did of couple of different versions. This one has more of a beachy feel
to it. I love the beach being a queenslander and thought the sun rays a must.

The goldfish is something I have traced in patchdraw . I imported an image and then traced around it. I was really happy with how it turned out. You could stitch the scales with lovely gold thread.
Next is oriental visions 2, I really love the colour combination . It has more of an oriental feel to it, don't you think . I really hope to actually start on this one, this year.
The project file will not be available on this one, as I like to make one and only quilts. Hope you understand.

My first try with Wreathmaker in EQ6

After reading Judy's Blog virtual quilter, I was inspired to try wreathmaker. The blocks are all from Electric Quilts program. I have called this one Wild Rose Wreath. I selected a block from the block library and then selected all of the design and then wreathmaker to finally come up with the design you see above. The blocks are all 10". I think the colours look woody hence the name wild rose.
If you would like a copy of this file ( you will need to have electric quilt installed to be able to view this file) please email me with a simple request and I will email it to you. As Judy says on her blog absolutely no need to beg just say please and within a couple of days it will be emailed to you.

Something for Christmas Table runner.

Here I have designed a table runner for Christmas.
Block measurement - 10"x 10".
Appliqued Santa, Reindeer, and holly. It has foundation pieced trees at either end.
The tablerunner measurements are 42" long by 12" wide.
No instructions for the Border or on how to make . The Borders are one inch wide finished size.
Here are the templates to make this pretty little tablerunner just in time for christmas.
